Remarks

URXVT mode extends traditional mouse reporting by using UTF-8 encoding for coordinates:

  • Coordinate range: up to 2015×2015 (vs 223×223 in traditional mode)
  • Uses multi-byte UTF-8 sequences for position encoding
  • Maintains ESC[M format with UTF-8 encoded coordinate bytes

Originally developed for rxvt-unicode terminal emulator. Largely superseded by SGR mode (1006) but useful for backward compatibility with older terminals.
